Make Your Own Festive Gift Boxes Workshop

£85 per person | 10:00am–1:30pm | Maximum 6 people

Get ahead with your Christmas gifting and spend a relaxed few hours at Purple Sage creating something rather special.

In this hands-on festive workshop, you’ll make and package FOUR beautiful botanical gift boxes, ready to give to friends and family, although we won't judge if you decide to keep one for yourself!

Each of your four finished gift boxes will contain five botanical skincare and bath treats:

Botanical Body Butter
Make a rich body butter using a blend of plant oils and butters, then whip and pot it ready for your gift boxes.

Lip Balm
Make a plant-based lip balm and pour your finished balm into individual containers for your four gift boxes.

Botanical Clay Face Mask
Create a dry face mask using carefully selected cosmetic clays and botanical ingredients, presented in a glass vial.

Festive Soap
A handmade Purple Sage festive soap will be ready for you to package and add to each of your gift boxes.

Botanical Bath Tea
Blend a selection of bath ingredients and dried botanicals to create a botanical bath tea, presented in its own tea bag ready to steep in the bath.

Once everything is made, we'll bring it all together and you'll package your products into four individual festive gift boxes.

We'll work through the different making processes together; melting, pouring, blending, whipping and packaging, with guidance throughout. No previous skincare-making experience is necessary.

All ingredients, containers, labels, PPE and gift packaging required for the workshop are included.

You'll leave Purple Sage with four complete handmade Christmas gifts, each containing five products,  that's 20 individual botanical treats made and packaged during your experience.

Workshops are held at Purple Sage, Sage Cottage, near Hawick in the Scottish Borders.

This workshop is for adults aged 18 and over only. Unfortunately, anyone under 18 cannot participate in the workshop.

Advance booking is essential.

Before You Come – Clothing & Safety

Purple Sage is a working skincare studio and you'll be handling a variety of cosmetic ingredients and equipment during the workshop.

All necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided. For your safety, PPE must be worn whenever instructed and participants are required to follow the safety guidance given during the workshop. 

Please wear comfortable, practical clothing with closed-toe, flat shoes. Please avoid loose or trailing sleeves, scarves or other clothing that could interfere with equipment or ingredients. Long hair must be tied back while making products.

The Purple Sage Soap Barn is a converted working barn and can be cold during autumn and winter. Heaters will be on during your workshop, but please dress warmly and bring an additional layer so that you remain comfortable. 

Allergies & Ingredient Sensitivities

During the workshop we will be working with a range of cosmetic ingredients, including plant oils and butters, essential oils, cosmetic clays and botanicals. Some ingredients may be derived from nuts.

If you have a nut allergy or any other known allergy or sensitivity to cosmetic ingredients, essential oils, fragrances, botanicals or any other relevant substance, you must tell Purple Sage in advance of attending the workshop.

This allows us to check the ingredients being used and determine whether we can safely accommodate your requirements.

If you do not advise us of an allergy or sensitivity before attending, we will presume that you have no known allergies or sensitivities relevant to the workshop.

Refreshments & Dietary Requirements

Light refreshments and hot and cold drinks will be provided during the workshop.

If you have any food allergies, intolerances or other dietary requirements, please tell us in advance so that we can make appropriate arrangements.

If you do not provide details of any dietary requirements before the workshop, we will presume that you do not have any that we need to accommodate.

Please note that information about cosmetic ingredient allergies and dietary requirements should both be provided where applicable – telling us about one does not necessarily alert us to the other.

Cancellation & Booking Policy

Places are limited to six participants and ingredients, materials and packaging are prepared in advance for each booking.

If you need to cancel, please give us at least 7 days' notice before your workshop.

For cancellations made 7 days or more before the workshop, you may transfer your booking to another available Purple Sage workshop date or request a refund.

Cancellations made less than 7 days before the workshop are non-refundable. However, you may transfer your place to another person. Please contact Purple Sage before the workshop to provide the name of the person who will be attending in your place.

If Purple Sage has to cancel the workshop, you will be offered a place on an alternative available date or a full refund.

By Booking This Workshop

By completing your booking, you confirm that you are aged 18 or over and that you have read and understood the workshop information, safety requirements, allergy information and cancellation policy.

It is your responsibility to tell Purple Sage in advance about any relevant allergies, sensitivities, food allergies, intolerances or dietary requirements.

All orders are processed within 3 to 5 business days (excluding weekends and holidays) after receiving your order confirmation email. You will receive another notification when your order has shipped. 

Please note that due to high volumes of orders or postal service problems that may be outside of our control, we reserve the right to delay your order.  Where possible we will always notify you.
